Paper written by the then Director of Pakistan Forest College & Research Institute Upper Topa provides the detailed study of Forests and Forestry problems in Pakistan. It is hoped that this attempt will induce others to tackle these problems. Forests of Pakistan mainly distributed into two main classes broadly with reference to climate. The natural Forests and artificial or plantation Forests. These types described separately as under. The N. & N.W. Hill Forest type. The Sub-montain Siwalik type. The Baluchistan Hill Forests. The Riverian Forests. The Rakhs. The Artificial (Plantation) forests. And Burman, Tidal and low level plains Sal forests are defined with respect to East Pakistan. Likewise special emphasis had been given on research and education of Forestry in Pakistan
