Introduction/General
The inaugural session of the conference was held in the senate Hall of the parliament at Ottawa. He described about Canada’s forestry. Twenty three countries were represented at conference by 118 delegates. Delegates visited forest areas paper miles research laboratories. On the behalf of Pakistan author spoke on bamboo as pulp material. Professor Champion of Oxford University described the method of naturally regenerating tamp rate forest in Scandinavian countries. Fire protection biological aspect of forest protection. On return from the tour of Ontario the conference discussed forest policy, survey of resources, Natural Regeneration in Tropical Forests, Forest Terminology, Sustained Yield Forest Management, Effect of Silviculture on the Strength of Wood, Utilization of Young Plantation Timbers, Effect of Development in Equipment and Harvesting on Utilization, Wood Waste utilization and Forest Research.
